Information about “Extras”

For many of Midwest Ballet Theatre’s full-length productions, such as “The Nutcracker”, children are selected from the Academy as “extras”. Enrolling in the Academy in no way guarantees a child’s inclusion in any production. Children at the appropriate age/size groups and ability levels will be observed during their classes based on teachers’ recommendations for these parts. There are no auditions for extras. Other than boys, all extra dancers in MBT productions are current enrollees in the Academy.
